OU Nightly

The following stories have all been produced for OU Nightly, the daily live newscast of Gaylord College of Journalism at the University of Oklahoma. These stories were created with the intention of informing the public about local news events.

Trampoline Olympic Trials

I went to the first Olympic Trial for trampoline athletes. Here's my story on the Olympic Trial and how the athletes our preparing for the 2024 Olympic games. 

Hail Protection 

Many severe storms in the Norman area come with a chance of hail. I went to a local dealership and talked to them about how to protect your and yourself from hail damage. 

Tumbling and Trampoline

I spoke to athletes who have been in this sport their whole life about what makes tumbling and trampoline special to them. 

Oklahoma Tulips

Oklahoma Tulips opens for it's third season. I talked to employees about the farm and this seasons tulips.

Women's Aviation and Aerospace Day 

I attended the 2023 Women in Aviation and Aerospace Day event and got a chance to talk to Colonel Eileen Collins about her story of being the first female to command a Space Shuttle Mission.

Small Businesses Closing

Many small businesses have said goodbye to Normnan, causing concern for the community. I spoke to the Norman Chamber of Commerce about the closings, 

Honoring Toby Keith

I spoke to one of Toby Keith's friends about the legacy he leaves behind in Oklahoma. 

Winter Weather Reporting

Norman was hit by an ice storm and OU Nightly weather team did winter weather coverage. I went out and did live shots throughout the day to talk about how people were preparing for the storm. 

Stranded After Storm 

On February 26 2023, an E-2 tornado ripped through parts of Norman, OK. A Norman resident went to an OnCue gas station down the road from her home and ended up being stranded at the gas station for over eight hours.
